"Q" DIAMOND WATER CHLORINATOR - INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION CELL: -
The Poolstore "Q" DIAMOND cell housing will directly
accept 50mm pipe.
If 40mm pipe is being used, glue in reducers supplied with
the chlorinator to both the inlet and outlet ports of the
cell housing.
Install cell housing in return line to pool as the last
item of equipment closest to the pool. Where large capacity
heaters (i.e. 24kW - 200Mj or greater) are used, it will
be necessary to install the cell in a heater by-pass line.
The elevated temperatures of the heated water can effect
the performance of the cell and in some instances the cell
and housing. Warranty claims will not be accepted where
this precaution is not taken.
INSTALLATION: -
Firmly affix the power pack in a protected location to a
rigid surface approximately 1 to 1.5m above floor or ground
level. DO NOT connect the POOLSTORE "Q" DIAMOND
chlorinator via an extension lead.
Plug the POOLSTORE "Q" DIAMOND power lead into
the supply socket outlet, which is turned "OFF"
and make sure that the CELL switch is in the OFF position
and that the TIMER OVERRIDE SWITCH is "ON".
Plug the filter pump supply plug into the bottom of the
POOLSTORE "Q" DIAMOND
power pack. DO NOT plug a double adaptor into the pump outlet
as by doing so you will negate an inbuilt safety feature.
Set the time-clock by pushing the pins in towards the centre
for the time or times that you wish the pump and chlorinator
to operate. Set the existing time against the white arrow
on the time-clock.
Now make sure that all valves, if any, in the pools recirculation
system are in the "OPEN" position and that the
filter pump is primed with water and then turn on the power
pack at the supply socket.
Note that the pump is now running, but that the chlorinator
is OFF. The CELL SWITCH should NOT be turned ON until all
the salt in the pool has dissolved. This will take from
48 hours to 72 hours depending on the pool water temperature
and the amount of circulation. During this time the filter
will run continuously. Automatic operation of the pump is
achieved by switching the pump switch to auto. To hasten
the dissolving of the pool salt, we recommend brushing the
pool floor occasionally to get water circulating around
the salt (much like stirring sugar in tea or coffee). When
all the salt has dissolved, and not before, turn the chlorinator
on by the CELL switch. You will now notice a cloud of small
bubbles being discharged from the cell plates - and the
chlorinator monitor lights will glow.
The number of lights will depend on: -
1. Position of the chlorine
adjustment knob
2. Water Salinity
3. Temperature
