The original 3mm size, produces a pleasantly textured surface
which is slip resistant and provides a natural appearance
which can be used to great effect for beach entries and
in combination with natural rock.

A smaller grade of 1mm pebble which, after application,
is polished with a diamond disk to produce a flatter smoother
surface for more traditional pools. PebbleSheen pools
use a tile band at water level to produce a classical
look.

Skypebble is a mix of naturally-tumbled pebbles
and specially-formulated cement together with premixed coloured
tints which are used to create a natural-looking finish
for your pool, spa, pond, or pool surrounds. It can be used
in countless applications as well as in the surrounds of
your home or pool, in fact Skypebble will bring the
beauty and strength of natural stone to just about any environment!

Versatile Looking Finish
Skypebble provides a more natural looking finish
than do traditional surface materials because it is manufactured
using finely screened and naturally tumbled pebbles and
highly colour fast cement tints. Because it is a natural,
hand-finished product, there will be variations in the
colour and exposure of the pebbles and the tint. As a
result, the finish captures sunlight and creates a broad
spectrum of colour that is visually pleasing and unique.

Economic Benefits
Skypebble is economically superior to other surfaces such
as plaster due to it's low maintenance costs. For example:
the costly exercise of removing stains is largely avoided
due to Skypebble's highly resistant surface and
the fact that Skypebble's natural finish makes
stains less noticeable. Similarly, algae does not bond
as readily to Skypebble as it does to other surfaces,
thus overall operating costs are reduced because maintenance
requirements are lower.
Environmental Advantages
Skypebble's durable surface reduces the likelihood of
the pool needing to be re-surfaced. This has a twofold
environmental benefit :
1) In order to re-surface
a swimming pool, the water must first be drained and
then after the re-surfacing process has been completed
the pool must, of course, be refilled. By dramatically
reducing or even eliminating the need for re-surfacing,
Skypebble makes a significant contribution to
the conservation of our valuable water resources.
2) The concrete waste material resulting from
pool re-surfacing must be transported and dumped. Once
again, by reducing the likelihood of re-surfacing being
required, Skypebble conserves time, money and
resources by eliminating the need for the shipment of
this waste, and also helps to relieve the pressure on
our world's already crowded landfills.
Additionally, Skypebble's natural appearance (based
on naturally occurring pebbles) visually complements the
surrounding environment rather than disrupting it. Because
Skypebble blends naturally with the environment,
it does not require the installation of tiles above the
water line to enhance the pool's appearance. Thus fewer
materials must be manufactured, packaged and distributed
to the site - resulting in further conservation of energy
and resources.
